Independence Anniversary: FG declares public holiday
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineThe Federal Government has declared October 1 as a public holiday to commemorate the nation’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
In the statement on Saturday in Abuja, Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion.
He commended patient and hardworking Nigerian men and women, adding that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

The minister reiterated the need for Nigerians to reflect on the labour of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead.
While wishing Nigerians a happy celebration, Tunji-Ojo urged them to continue to be steadfast in nation-building.
