Strictly fans convinced of feud between Wynne and Katya

Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced of a simmering feud between Wynne Evans and Katya Jones after noticing 'tension' during Sunday's results show - despite the pair blasting claims of a rift as 'absurd'. 

Viewers have been left sure that all is not well between the Welsh opera singer and his professional dance partner after highlighting another awkward interaction, during which Katya appeared to glare at him.  

Hours earlier, the Russian ballroom professional was forced to dismiss growing rumours of a feud after she was caught swiping his hand away following their live performance on Saturday evening.  

The BBC have since insisted they will not pursue the matter, with the dance partners insisting their perceived awkwardness was part of a yet to be clarified 'in-joke'. 

A spokesperson told MailOnline: 'Wynne and Katya have confirmed that their interactions in the Clauditorium were silly jokes they had planned together and have apologised to anyone who may have misinterpreted them. 

'They addressed them on Wynne's Instagram, where their apology can be found. Katya would like to clarify further that she was not offended by Wynne and was not made to feel uncomfortable in the least. 

'The welfare team have checked in on the pair and there are no further actions planned.' 

Following the revelation that they were safe and would be performing once again next week, several of the couples made their way to the green room.

During a discussion about Wynne's dance, host Claudia Winkleman asked the singer how he felt he had done.

And during his answer, fans noticed that Katya's face was very serious throughout with some fans even suggesting she looked disguised by her partner.

Fan speculation comes after the dancing duo's behaviour in the fourth live show.

As Claudia revealed this week's voting lines were open, Wynne, 52, put his arm around Katya, 35, only for her to knock his hand away as it moved along her waist.

A second frosty moment saw the Russian dancer appear to shun her celebrity partner's attempts at a high five after Sam Quek and Nikita Kumzin's performance. 

Standing with both hands outstretched, Katya seemed to deliberately turn her back on her partner instead of returning the gesture.   

And fans are now even more certain of bad blood between the Russian dancer and Wynne. 

During the show, Claudia asked Wynne how he felt, noting he looked shocked.

Wynne replied: 'I am shocked because I didn't think I'd survive week one so to be here after having done a tango is really thrilling.

'And I had such a good time and thankyou to Katya's clever choreography.'

As Wynne gave his answer fans spotted that Katya remained stony faced and even appeared to wince as the opera singer evaluated his performance. 

Some even pointed out that he stood with his hands behind his back which they believed was a response to fan backlash following Saturday's episode.  

And viewers took to X to voice their opinions writing: 'Oh dear Katya can barely disguise the dislike on her face for Wynne'

'Oh the tension between wynne and katya, they will “leave this week for personal reasons “ very uncomfortable to see '.

'Katya with a face like a slapped arse when Wynne was talking'.

'Wynne standing perfectly normally with his hands behind his back. Nothing to see here, no sir.'.

Some fans thought that the comments on social media following Saturday's live show may have affected the singer.

One fan wrote: 'Wynne looks very down / serious on the results show. Guessing he saw the social media comments between shows.'.

While other viewers seemed to notice and awkward tension writing: 'Katya and Wynne looked super awkward there...'. 

Both Katya and Wynne have taken to social media in an attempt to clarify what happened over the weekend. 

In a video shared to her Instagram on Sunday, the star explained that the whole episode was a misunderstanding and the two had an inside joke going on. 

She called fan speculation about Wynne's wandering hands 'absurd' and reassured fans not to worry. 

In the clip, which she seemingly filmed from inside her home, the star was wearing a purple jumper with a pink collar and cuffs and had her long brown hair loose.

She said: 'Happy Sunday everyone. Now I need to make something crystal clear.

'The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was an a very silly,  very silly inside joke between Wynne and I so even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended me in any way its complete nonsense.

'It's quite absurd actually. Can we  focus on how brilliantly he's doing and what an amazing dancer he's become?'.

She then interrupted herself as her door buzzer was going off before explaining she had a delivery.

'Delivery, sorry got to go, lot's of love, bye!' she added before finishing her video as she made her way towards her front door.
