Taylor Swift fans rush to recreate singer's glitter freckles

by · Mail Online

Taylor Swift is no stranger to glitz and sequins, often sporting bedazzled ensembles for her Eras Tour.

But as she earlier this week arrived at a Chiefs vs. Saints game in Missouri wearing $16 (£12.25) glitter freckles, she may have inadvertently sparked the latest beauty trend, as the brand selling the product used by the singer admitting website traffic surged by 2,500 per cent less than 24 hours after.

TikTok has exploded with people trying to recreate the looking using their own make-up - or sampling the very Stardust Speckle Makeup Patches from Fazit Beauty, used by the musician herself.

One influencer, @sophdoeslife, opted for metallic eyeliners to dot the design along her nose and cheeks, along with illustrations of star motifs.

'Still undecided about these but they definitely made a statement!!!' she told viewers, in the clip which racked up 10,500 likes.

Reaching into her own make-up bag @swiftie.estef also attempted to recreate the bejewelled look using products she already owned.

Elsewhere, content creator @carrieberk decided to test some glitter patches she had on hand after seeing Taylor's look.

'I happen to have some myself so I decided to pull them out and put them on,' she explained. 'These are actually so pretty.

'At first I thought they looked kind of strange but then I was kind of digging it - I'm gonna wear these out for dinner tonight.'

Commenters were full of compliments about the look, raving that the  freckles were 'so cute'.

Singaporean TikToker @hannysa.yusaa showed off her own glittery freckles - which she wore to an Eras Tour show - before Taylor had even debuted her look, showing the trend was already well on the rise.

Meanwhile, Fazit Beauty co-founder Nina LaBruna showed a huge surge in orders,  filming a label machine printing out dozens of orders.

'The internet broke over it,' she told her followers in a TikTok - and fans in the comments are desperate to make sure their shipment comes in time.

Another wrote: 'I am two of those orders haha. I bought one set and then went in for back ups.'

A third revealed: 'I ordered to wear to Sabrina Carpenter's concert next month!'

Many others remarked on the 'Taylor Swift effect', with one admitting: 'I saw Taylor Swift wearing glitter freckles, so now I'm wearing glitter freckles.'

Woman behind Taylor Swift's viral glitter freckles reveals she had to 'work overtime' to meet demand

The shimmery, playful look is perfect for the autumn and winter seasons, which are filled with festive occasions.

One of Fazit's founders Aliett Buttelman also filmed herself crying at the immense success the brand has achieved on TikTok, with the clip racking up 35,800 likes.

The New York City-based beauty entrepreneur told FEMAIL how she's working overtime to meet the sudden demand for her Eras Tour-worthy glitter freckles.

Aliett told DailyMail.com the brand launched on April 30, 2024, with the Stardust Speckle Makeup Patches, which are designed to be 'long-lasting, sweat-proof, and waterproof, making them perfect for everything from festivals to football games.'

'Even before Taylor Swift wore our patches, we saw a huge spike in sales, especially during the Eras Tour in Europe and as people prepped for her North American leg,' she revealed.

'Since Taylor wore the Gold Stardust Speckles, the response has been nothing short of incredible.

'In the last 15 hours alone, sales and website traffic have surged by 2,500 per cent.'

Aliett said their team is 'working overtime to keep up with demand and ensure that everyone can get their patches in time for the upcoming Eras shows,' which kicks off again on October 18 in Miami.

In another video, Aliett said, 'Taylor Swift is literally wearing my glitter freckle patches at the Chiefs game right now. Is life real? I literally just stopped sobbing'
The Fazit patches can be purchased on Amazon and are a hit with concertgoers planning on attending the Miami and New Orleans dates of the Eras Tour

Aliett posted a TikTok and said 'Update: Working overtime because Taylor Swift is wearing my brand Glitter Freckles at the Chiefs game currently,' and explained, 'It's 11 pm... I've convinced my brother-in-law to be working overtime for us and my fiancé is also doing the best to sleuth to find all the articles that are being posted right now.'

'I really don't know how I'm going to sleep,' Aliett continued in the video.

Freckle facts! Here's how Aliett recommends applying the glittering goods

  • We recommend using a wet towel or sponge to dampen the patch for about 30 to 60 seconds
  • We call it the 'patch, pat, peel, and reveal' method
  • Once applied, they'll stay put through sweat, water, and anything else, which is perfect for long events like Taylor's three-hour performances

'Our team is working around the clock to make sure everyone gets their products ASAP,' the beauty founder told DailyMail.com. 'Amazon is likely to sell out first, but we're doing everything we can to keep up with the demand.'

The Swiftie shared a number of TikTok videos documenting the popularity of her freckles and her emotional response.

'I was completely overwhelmed - I literally sobbed!' she told FEMAIL, calling it 'such an emotional moment to see the hard work of the past two years validated by someone who has defined our generation'.

In a previous TikTok, Aliett explained in May it was her 'sole mission' to get her glitter patches to Taylor and since she was spotted wearing them, the 'internet and sales has just blown up'.

The Fortnight singer is famous for purchasing Popflex and Halara skirts and tops from viral brands she's spotted on the Gen Z-beloved app.

'Back in May, I had reached out to her makeup artist's agency... and we sent her the patches,' Aliett explained on TikTok, since she 'imagined them all over the Eras Tour'.

Aliett wanted to see the freckles on other WAGs at Chiefs games in hopes Taylor would eventually wear them, so she gifted them to other players' wives and girlfriends.

'Manifestation is literally real,' the New York beauty buff promised her followers, which were growing by the thousands.

Aliett said, 'Everything has changed,' since Taylor wore the freckles, and explained she knows it's her brand because she can identify them easily.

Aliett sent Taylor's MUA Lorrie Turk the freckles in the spring after they launched the patches but thinks it's entirely possible she stumbled upon the innovative product organically.

'We've had viral moments before, but Taylor amplifies everything to a new level!' Aliett said.
