A 17-year-old boy has been killed and another is fighting for his life after they were involved in a car crash said to have happened during a high-speed police chase outside a London hospital.

Three males, all of whom were in the car being pursued by Met Police, were rushed to hospital after the crash outside Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal, west London, just before 5.30am today.

The 17-year-old boy later died in hospital. Of the two other males, one remains in a critical condition while the other is said to be stable but receiving medical support.

A fourth passenger in the car was not seriously injured in the crash, police said.

Images posted online showed a completely wrecked vehicle in the hospital entrance with a police cordon surrounding it, along with a large presence from emergency services.

The red car appears to have rolled over given the severe damage to the roof and is missing its front right wheel.

It is not known why the car was being chased by police.

An independent probe into the circumstances around the chase has been launched with the Independent Office for Police Conduct informed.
