Kelsey Parker says 'I was lonely and wanted someone' before new love
by Poppy Atkinson Gibson · Mail OnlineKelsey Parker has recounted how she was really lonely following the death of The Wanted star Tom Parker.
The mother-of-two told Ranvir Singh on Friday's episode of Lorraine that she never expected to be dealing with something as difficult as the death of a partner at her age.
And while she admitted she is still grieving, she discussed finding love again after becoming a widow at just 32.
Kelsey explained that she initially found it difficult to put herself out there and date because she was worried about the reaction.
She said: 'There's no wrong or right way to grieve. We all talk about time, when's the right time to move on, but I don't think there is a right time and with the cards I've been dealt I'm having to roll with those cards.'
She added: 'I never thought at the age of 32 with two children I'd be widowed.'
Kelsey explained that she met her new boyfriend, Will Lindsay, organically after deciding not to try dating apps over fears people would think she had 'moved on' and had forgotten her pop star husband Tom.
She told Ranvir: 'We met out with friends, he was out with a group of boys and I was out with a group of girls and we just had a connection.
'I just wanted to meet someone authentic. I couldn't have done dating app, I was so scared and it was the judgement from people about moving on and meeting someone, but everyone's so supportive.
'The love I've been shown is so amazing.'
She revealed that her parents-in-law are very supportive of her new love life and have been helping her since the death of her husband.
'I've got such an amazing village and with Tom's parents they've supported me with whatever I've decided to do and they understand how hard it is.' she said.
She went on to say that although she still loves Tom and he is 'very much alive' in their home, she was lonely and wanted someone to share her life with.
She confessed: 'Tom is so alive in our house and we talk about him every day. We're still processing it every day, why did it happen to us?
'We're still dealing with the conversations but its about finding happiness and with friends and family there's only so much they can do and its lovely to have someone to offload to in an evening.

Tom Parker's widow Kelsey reveals the couple's children 'love' her new boyfriend
'I was so lonely and I just wanted someone.'
She added that she feels such a strong connection with her tree surgeon partner, 27, because he also experienced the death of a loved one when he was young.
Will, who comes from a tight-knit family in Kent, suffered his own heartbreak in 2017 when his father David died aged just 50 when he was 21.
Kelsey added that her life was turned upside down and wanted people to be kinder to those who are grieving.
She said that although people may have thought she had the perfect life, she still has difficult days.
She said: 'I'm navigating my life, a life I never thought I'd have.
'I had the perfect life, my husband and two children. Tom was a popstar - who wouldn't want that?
'But my life has been flipped upside down so I want a little more kindness, because you've not walked a day in my shoes.'
Kelsey became a widow in March 2022 when her husband Tom - best known as a member of The Wanted - died after battle with brain cancer aged just 33.
Two years later she has revealed she is in a new relationship with her tree-surgeon partner, who she met while she was fundraising in honour of her late husband.
And the loved-up couple were spotted sharing a romantic kiss last week during a family holiday to Whitstable.
The two enjoyed a romantic stroll across the beach with her children Amelia, five, and Bodhi, three.
Walking hand-in-hand the couple laughed together as they lifted Bodhi in the air and swung him while Amelia played.
Kelsey, who dressed in a casual hoodie and comfortable trousers, looked happier than ever.
Just days before announcing her new romance, Kelsey revealed to The Sun that she finally felt lifted out of the 'fog' of grief and is now in a 'better place'.
A source told the publication: 'Will and Kelsey really hit if off earlier this year and he has been incredibly supportive of her.'
'He helped her at a recent charity football match for Tom Parker and has attended other events.
'She hasn't been shy about their romance and they pair looked very loved up at a gala last week.'
Kelsey said that she feels in a much better place than in the year following Tom's tragic death.
'I'm in a better place than I was. I think I just jumped straight back into work, because ultimately, I was thinking 'S***, I need to provide for the kids',' she said.
'Now I feel lighter and I feel like I can see more clearly,' she added. 'I think I was having an out of body experience.'
