Two children raced to hospital after being hit by a car in Liverpool

Two children have been rushed to hospital after they were hit by a car in Liverpool on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the incident at the junction between Great Homer Street and Kirkdale Road, just north of the city centre, at around 3.50pm yesterday.

Police said that the children had been hit by the vehicle and had sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Several police vehicles and an air ambulance descended on the scene as the street was closed in both directions, the Echo reported. The road has since reopened.

Some bus services were diverted down Scotland Road, Arriva North West confirmed.
