A three-year-old toddler and a father were rushed to hospital after the parent was pushed to the ground in an 'unprovoked attack'.

Police have released the CCTV image of the man, who was reportedly seen shoving the father to the floor whilst he walked along Westbourne Grove, London, with his child.

The incident happened on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill, West London, on October 5, and saw the male victim hit his head against a wall.

The incident caused the father to sustain 'quite serious injuries, including bleeding, a fractured eye socket and heavy bruising', according to police.

Both the father and child have since been discharged from hospital, but will require further medical care.

Police are now wanting to speak with a man, believed to be in his 40s, who has been described by the force as black male with a medium to large build.

The Metropolitan police have released an image of a man they want to speak with following an assault in Notting Hill earlier this month

The individual in question was last spotted wearing white trainers, a dark blue jacket and cap, as well as a pair of blue trousers.

Enquiries are ongoing but police say it appears at this stage to be an unprovoked attack.

In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: 'If you recognise this man or if you have any information which could help, please report it to police online or call 101 quoting 3239/05OCT24.

'Alternatively this can be reported to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
