Holby City star Faulkner previously spoke about her strong bond with Outhwaite, revealing how they got each through the 'dark days' of the pandemic.

The pair worked together on EastEnders when Faulkner the cast of EastEnders as Fi Browning in 2017 while Outhwaite played Mel Owen.

The television presenter, 52, explained: 'The pandemic hasn’t highlighted the importance of my close friends, it’s cemented it.

'We’ve always been there for each other. If someone’s having a bad time we’re there, we’re also there cheering them on - when we can (due to the pandemic)!

'We kept talking and messaging and WhatsApp groups were happening. We kept phoning each other, going for walks - dog walking when it was allowed.

'When we could only meet one person we met one person. When we could walk with three, it was three. At the start of the pandemic we had those Zoom cocktail days - those were very dark days, trying to pretend everything was okay!'

On their enduring friendship during the pandemic, Lisa added: 'Most women I know have a close knit group of friends. I think women are very good at looking after our friendships - men are too, but women just get it.

'We just celebrate each other. We all work really hard and are pretty independent, so it’s important to have that time - we turn to our friends to be cheered on and have a laugh with.

It follows the trio of best friends trying to solve the mystery of the death – initially ruled an accident – of their fellow sister-in-law Annabelle, played by Christine Bottomley.

Outhwaite, who split from husband Tom Ellis in 2017 after he allegedly cheated on her with actress Emile De Ravin, spoke about the parallels in her life and role.

She told The Mirror: 'Sylvie's only been freshly divorced. Deep down, she's probably got some pain that she needs to deal with. I'm not like her in that way. I feel pretty clear and happy I'm at a place where I've come through the other end. Life feels really good.'

Outhwaite also spoke about how she loved working alongside her friends.

'To be surrounded by what felt like family when you were so far from your own family was so important.

'I like my own company but I also have great groups of mates. Friendship groups are really important for a lot of women.'

Elsewhere in the chat, she spoke about the breakdown of her six-year relationship with boyfriend Child and revealed she is now 'happy to be single' for the first time in her life.

She shared: 'I'm quite happy. And being single and happy is a really lovely place to be. And that can only happen with life experience.'

Reflecting on this break up, she said: 'Maybe before now, I've been single but not happy. For anyone struggling, the most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself.'

She continued: There is a lot said about people not wanting to be on their own as they get older. I really like being on my own. Especially now, at this age, I really like my own company.'

It's the first time she's spoken publicly about her latest break-up and it seems to hit rather differently to her divorce.

Ellis, 45, is the father of her children Flo, 16, and Marnie, 12, but he now lives in the US with his new wife Meaghan, 38, and baby daughter Dolly, who is ten months old.

In 2023, Outhwaite shared a post online a decade since her split from Ellis and wrote: 'Ten years since the father of my kids walked out on us for the final time.'

The marriage is understood to have ended after he confessed to an affair with Australian actress Ravin, best known for her role as Claire Littleton in Lost, while they worked together on US TV show Once Upon A Time in 2013.

In a now deleted Tweet, Outhwaite said she was still hearing more stories of Ellis' alleged infidelity that took place during their nine year marriage.

Outhwaite wrote: 'Ten years since the father of my kids walked out on us for the final time. I still meet new people on jobs who reveal more infidelities and lies that he committed.

'But thankfully my heart and soul are clear and clean and I could not be happier right now.'

Outhwaite had been introduced to Ellis in 2005 by his old friend, the actor James McAvoy, who was appearing on stage with the actress.

After nine years of marriage, they were granted a quick divorce in 2014 - leaving Outhwaite heartbroken.

'Tamzin couldn't believe Tom's betrayal and was distraught,' a source told The Sun in 2016.

'She was excited for him to go over to America and further his career off the back of Miranda while she raised their two daughters and this is how he repaid her.'

Outhwaite told Essentials magazine in 2015: 'I wouldn't not be with my husband over a one-night stand is all I'll say' - hinting that their split was the result of more than just a single mistake.

The actress said she didn't want to reveal the precise details of their troubles for fear of hurting their kids.

She added: 'I will tell them exactly what happened and it will come from me. He's still their dad and they still have a relationship.'

Ellis has since made a name for himself in the US, playing the devil incarnate in TV drama series Lucifer.
