It comes after Joan revealed she believes woke culture has gotten out of control and has robbed Britain of its sense of humour.

The actress didn't hold back as she took aim at the changing culture particularly in the showbiz world regarding the word actress.

Joan insisted she prefers being called an 'actress' and finds the term 'female actor' demeaning.

Speaking to Andrew Pierce in an interview on GB News on Friday, Joan made it clear: 'On the whole I like to be called an actress. It is a very pretty word and its feminine and I consider myself to be feminine and a feminist.

'Why should we be called female actors? I find it demeaning frankly.'

As the broadcaster asked whether wokery had gone a bit too far, the star replied: 'My God yes, you know I do.

'I think it's gone out of control, really. You can't say anything. People get offended. We've lost our British sense of humour.'

'I grew up with my father going to – because he was an agent for variety halls – and so we would go and we would see outrageous comedians making jokes about their mother-in-law and fat people.

The star added: 'If I'm in a room with some actors and actresses, I call us actors, and I do sometimes call myself a jobbing actor,' she added. 'But on the whole, I like to be called an actress.'

Dame Joan Collins, 85, claims modern consent culture is 'out of control' in the wake of #MeToo and says freedom of expression is being compromised

It's not the first time Joan has spoke against woke culture after she took part in a heated debate back in 2018 when she was quizzed about the campaign to ban the song Baby It's Cold Outside.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain the veteran actress sided with outspoken host Piers Morgan, claiming the world has gone PC-mad and things are 'getting worse and worse' in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

Joan said the art of seduction will be stamped out as modern consent culture becomes 'out of control', decrying current cultural attitudes towards sexuality.

The debate occurred following the news the 1949 Oscar-winning tune, originally performed by Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban, has been banned by radio stations amid concerns the lyrics promoted date rape.

Joan said the outrage was ridiculous, declaring: What's going to happen to seduction? It's becoming out of control, this has all happened within two years.

'It's getting worse and worse, it's one of the sweetest numbers, how dare they?'

Susanna Reid chimed in: 'You're signed up to Piers Morgan's [school of thought] the world's gone nuts!'

Piers also asked Joan about restricting the subject matter of comedians jokes for fear of offending people.

Joan declared: 'Back in the day, I saw comedians make jokes about other nationalities, you can't say anything now...

'Not even about people with frizzy hair...you can only make jokes about age! It's not welcome to me at all, but it seems to be the only thing left standing!'
