Police have launched an urgent manhunt for the gunman who shot three women in a horrifying drive-by attack.

Emergency services were called to Frederick Street near St John's Retail Park in Wolverhampton at around 11pm yesterday to terrifying reports of 'shots being fired from a car'.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police confirmed that three women were rushed to hospital - two of whom have since been discharged.

The third remains in hospital but is 'in a stable condition', the force said.

Declaring that 'such violence is unacceptable', officers are now trawling through hours of CCTV footage with the hopes of identifying the suspected shooter.
