The Duchess of York has revealed her granddaughter Sienna had a unicorn-themed party to celebrate her third birthday.

Sarah Ferguson, 64, who lives in Royal Lodge in Windsor, explained how her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice turned to a popular British supermarket for Sienna's cake.

In an interview with Hello!, Fergie said that Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi also hosted Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank and their two sons August and Ernest.

Prince Andrew's ex-wife said: 'We had such a good time, with balloons and a fabulous unicorn cake from Tesco.'

The Duchess also revealed that her daughter was especially happy with the present she bought Sienna.

Last year, Edo - who has son Christopher Woolf from a previous relationship - marked Sienna's second birthday by sharing a photo of her wearing a sombrero

Sarah added: 'I also gave her a pink mackintosh with glitter in it and I think mum was thrilled with that!'

Beatrice - who is Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti - and Edo are raising their daughter to be a private citizen and have never shared a photo of Sienna's face.

Unlike her sister Princess Eugenie, Beatrice doesn't have social media - but did allow her sibling to post a picture of Sienna at London Zoo with her cousins in April 2023

Last year, Edo - who has son Christopher Woolf from a previous relationship - marked Sienna's second birthday by sharing a photo of her wearing a sombrero.

The birthday girl was pictured wearing a floral dress and walking away from the camera.

The proud father wrote at the time: 'Happy Birthday Baby Girl. You bring us so much love and joy every day.'

Earlier this year, one of Beatrice's friends told Tatler: 'Sienna is absolutely gorgeous and looks exactly like Bea. She's really cheeky and has a very good personality.'

Praising her parenting, the friend added: 'Bea has such a good heart and she's such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her; she's a fantastic mum'.

When the couple announced Sienna's name in October 2021, Edoardo shared a print of their daughter's feet along with her full name

Beatrice's daughter weighed 6lbs 2oz when she was born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London at 11.42pm on 18 September 2021.

Two weeks after her arrival, Beatrice and Edo announced they had decided to call their daughter Sienna Elizabeth, in a touching tribute to the late Queen

Posting an image of their baby's footprints on Instagram, Edoardo wrote: 'Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Our life together has just begun, and I can't wait to see all the amazing things that await us.

'Feeling so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, baby Sienna and Wolfie. These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying….that with every child you grow a whole new heart.'

'A massive thank you to the Midwife and the amazing team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.'

Princess Beatrice's daughter turns three: Sienna Mapelli Mozzi celebrates birthday

Sienna is the late Queen's 12th great-grandchild. Like many of her cousins, she does not have a royal title.

Only grandchildren of the monarch through the male line are automatically entitled to the styling of HRH.

King Charles could bestow a title on his great-niece if desired, but it is unlikely to be asked for.

However, the little girl is officially a 'Nobile Donna' and 'contessa' - the female version of a count - as a result of her father's noble ancestry.

Such titles are not officially recognised in Italy anymore. They can still, however, be used as a sign of respect.

Edoardo will one day inherit his family's seat, the 18th-century Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace in northern Italy.

Sienna is currently placed in tenth position in the royal line of succession, under her mother Princess Beatrice.
