In crackdown on Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Special Cell nabs seven suspected shooters

In a crackdown on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested at least seven suspected shooters who were planning to target nephew of a former MLA from Rajasthan. In a related development, the Crime branch also arrested a 55-year-old man for supplying arms and ammunition to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Delhi-NCR.

Additional Commissioner of Police of Special Cell) Pramod Kumar Kushwah said, “During the continuing surveillance on several gangsters and their active modules, an input was received about a suspect Ritesh of the Bishnoi syndicate who was nabbed from South East Delhi. On his instance raids were conducted in Rajasthan, and Sukhram was nabbed.”

He added that Sukhram disclosed that he was getting instructions from Anmol Bishnoi and Naveen alias Arzoo. It was also learnt that Ritesh and Sukhram had been instructed to meet two other gang operatives in Abohar, Punjab.

Subsequently, on Thursday, two more operatives, namely Sahil and Amar, both native of Abohar, were nabbed. Further, three more operatives namely Badal, Parmod and Sandeep were caught from Sirsa, Haryana, Addl CP said.

During the probe, it was learnt that they were tasked to carry out the murder of one Sunil Pahalwan, of Rajasthan and the nephew of a former MLA from Rajasthan namely Raj Kumar Gaur. Further targets were also assigned to them whose identities are being kept confidential for operational reasons.

He said the accused are also being interrogated and it will also be probed if they are in many ways linked to the attack on Baba Siddique. Six firearms and 24 live cartridges have been recovered so far from the arrested accused.
