Light showers in Bhopal, rains lash 20 other districts in MP

Spell of heavy rainfall started again in Madhya Pradesh, 21 districts including the capital Bhopal, Indore Narmadapuram, Sehore, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Guna, Tikamgarh, Khandwa and Balaghat received heavy rainfall on Wednesday.

Khandwa received 2.25 inches of rain in 9 hours. More than 1 inch of rain was recorded in Mandla, and 45 inches of rain was recorded in Pachmarhi, Damoh and Malajkhand. It also rained in Shajapur, Betul, Gwalior, Chhindwara, Khajuraho, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Satna and Sidhi.

The soyabean crop kept in the fields got wet due to rains in Sehore and Vidisha districts. The highway was flooded due to heavy rain in Pachor, Rajgarh. A woman died due to lightning in Khandwa.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 31 districts including Indore-Ujjain. There is an alert of heavy rain in 10 districts. There is an 'orange' alert for heavy rain in the southern districts like Betul, Burhanpur, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Dhar, Seoni and Pandhurna.

Heavy rain may occur in Sehore, Khandwa, Jhabua, Ratlam, Dewas, Chhindwara, Mandla and Balaghat in the next 24 hours. Heavy rain may occur in Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Harda, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Rewa, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Sagar districts. Thunderstorms and light rain are expected in the remaining districts.

In fact, due to the effect of low pressure in Madhya Pradesh, there will be heavy rain for the next three days.

In Sehore district's village panchayat Jata Kheda, there was heavy rain from around 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon, due to the rain, the soybean kept in the fields got completely wet. Many fields were filled with water up to 1.5 to 2 inches. Farmers say that there is a possibility of sprouting of soybean grains due to this rain.

In Bhilakhedi village of Lateri in Vidisha district, a mother and son working in the field died after being struck by lightning on Wednesday afternoon. The names of the deceased are Sethani Bai Yadav, age 40 years and her son Brajpal Yadav, age 12.

A woman has died due to lightning in Khandwa. The incident is from Surgaon Joshi village adjacent to the city. Where a shepherd woman from Rajasthan died due to lightning at 4 pm on Wednesday evening.

According to the Meteorological Department, a strong system has become active for the fourth time in September. Due to this, there will be heavy rain on September 25, 26 and 27.

Meteorologist VS Yadav said that the low pressure area has become active in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there will be rain in the southern and eastern parts of the state. Bhopal may also receive light rain in the next 24 hours.
