18-year-old youth killed in mishap after truck hits his bike

An 18-year-old youth died while he was on his way with cake for his sister's birthday, his friend who was riding pillion escaped with injuries after their bike was hit by a speeding truck at Aamoni Ghat in the state capital late in the night on Thursday.

The injured youth is reportedly critical. At the time of the accident, the youths were returning with a cake, as it was the deceased's sister's birthday. The police have registered a case and started an investigation in the matter.

According to the police, Prem Sing was a resident of Balampur village, used to work as a labourer. His sister(cousin) lives in the neighbourhood of his house. It was her birthday on Thursday. There was a birthday party at home at night, in which cake cutting was also to be done. Prem was given the responsibility of bringing the cake.

Prem went to Bhopal with his friend Prakash alias Pappu to get a cake. From here, both the friends were returning with a cake on a bike. Near Aamoni Ghat, a dumper hit them while overtaking. Prem, who was driving the bike, died on the spot in the accident.
