Class 9 girl falls from 5th floor balcony, dies

A class 9 girl died after she fell from the balcony of the 5th floor of Ultimate Campus in Kolar, before this accident, she remained missing for 6 hours.

The incident happened on Thursday evening at Ultimate Campus in Kolar of the city.

Police said that the family members said that the accident occured after she slipped while drying clothes. At the same time, the residents of the building and the gardener told that the teenager has committed suicide.

According to Kolar Police Station SI Jitendra Kewat, Riya Katare's father Rajesh Katare is posted in the police department. On Thursday evening, information was received from Bansal Hospital that the teenager fell from the fifth floor of the flat.

The family members have said that she slipped while drying clothes. After the post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the family.

Rajendra Mali, who works as a gardener in the colony, said that the accident happened on Thursday evening at around 4:15 pm. At this time he was working at a distance of about 50 meters from the incident spot during which the youths fishing in the Kaliyasot canal raised alert and shouted that the girl had fallen from the balcony.

The family members came down in a hurry and took her to the hospital. The flat in which the girl lived has two balconies. One is towards the road, the other is towards the Kaliyasot canal in the back. The student fell down from the balcony facing the Kaliyasot canal.

The student had left home without informing anyone, when she returned she fell from the balcony.

Another employee working in the apartment told that the girl had left home without informing anyone at 10 am on Thursday. Her father and brother kept searching for her.

The girl returned at four in the evening. Meanwhile, the family members had informed the police about her disappearance. A few minutes after returning home, she fell down from the balcony. The girl's father used to come to the colony in a police vehicle.

After the accident, the family left with the body. The flat is locked. It is being told that the family has been living in the flat for the last 8 months. Riya was the youngest in the family. She has two elder brothers and two elder sisters. One sister is studying in Gwalior while one is married and lives with her family.
