Calgary police, EMS respond to fatal collision between bus and vehicle

Calgary police and EMS responded to a collision between a city bus and a vehicle Wednesday afternoon that left one person dead.

Police were called to the scene near Bridlecrest Way and 24th Street S.W. around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a crash between a Calgary Transit bus and a vehicle.

One person died in the incident, said Calgary police Staff Sgt. Mike Saad.

Anyone with cellphone camera images or video of the incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234.

Those who witnessed the collision, including an unknown number of passengers aboard the bus, who may require help are asked to call the victim assistance support team at 403-428-8398.
