The 21-year-old was sent down to the Calgary Flames’ AHL affiliate on Friday afternoon, a move that came as the result of Sam Honzek and Yegor Sharangovich likely returning to the lineup in the next couple of days and the team needing to reduce its roster size.

Coronato was the Flames’ 13th pick in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft and has scored two goals in five games this season. Last year, he bounced between the Flames and Wranglers, recording three goals and adding six assists in 34 NHL games, as well as 15 goals and 42 points in 45 games of AHL action.
